Doctoral Student Consortium

The Doctoral Student Consortium offers a unique opportunity for doctoral students to refine their research skills, learn being effective marketing educators, and develop their professional network. Doctoral students are also encouraged to submit their papers that are working in progress to exchange their research ideas and receive constructive feedback. Various awards, including the best student paper, runner-up, and honorable mentions, will be offered to the student papers. The award winners also receive free registration for the MEA 2025 conference. Dr. Gerard J. Tellis will have a workshop with doctoral students. Stay tuned for more updates!

Dr. Tony Gao

Director of the Ph.D. program, and Associate Professor of Marketing at Manning School of Business, University of Massachusetts Lowell

Dr. Tony Gao is the director of the Ph.D. program and an associate professor of marketing at Manning School of Business, University of Massachusetts Lowell. Tony conducts research on the management of customer relationships, marketing innovations, and international marketing. He has published in Journal of Business Research, Journal of Business Ethics, Journal of Interactive Marketing, Journal of International Marketing, Journal of Service Research, Industrial Marketing Management, and Journal of Advertising Research, among other journals.

Dr. Annie Peng Cui

Kmart Chair and Professor of Marketing, and Marketing Department Chair,

West Virginia University

Dr. Annie Peng Cui is the Kmart Chair and Professor of Marketing, and Marketing Department Chair at West Virginia University. Her research focuses on firms’ branding, pricing and international marketing strategies. Her research appears in Journal of international Marketing, Journal of Business Research, Industrial Marketing Management, among others. She is a co-author of International Marketing, 11th ed. She provides service to the marketing profession by serving as the Managing Editor for Journal of Marketing Theory and Practice and a board member on American Marketing Association’s Global SIG. She co-organizes the annual American Marketing Association Global SIG Conference and co-chairs the International Perspectives track of 2024 Winter AMA Conference.
